WHITE LILY
A white Lily leaf, stretched out on a bed sheet shore, Crumpled tips half lit by morning light. She softly stirs and starts to surface, sleepily opening one eye, then the next. Her lips numbly fumble a half formed still born word She thumbs the sleep from slat eyes, flickering lights. 'what time is it?' she softly mumbles. I stand sentry over her, trying to memorise every line, every curve and contour she makes, Lay a shower cooled hand on her duvet wrap warm skin. She capsizes herself into rippled bed sheets, slowly sinking back into sleep. I kiss her back to the light, lip soft words like dove wings 'love you'

VIOLET NIGHT
Sponge rag wash of pale violet light Crumbled chalky clouds slung low Fade faintly into the canvas Of a loosely woven sky
